The Narcissistic Groupie

Mar 1st, 2010 | By Adam

2 questions on this week’s Torah portion (Ki Tisa):

#1. Why are the 2 narratives about the construction of the Mishkan (Tabernacle) interrupted by the incident of the Golden Calf considering that it was chronologically out of order.

#2. If the Almighty had such a problem with a little statue of a calf, then why would He allow the two other golden statues (of Cherubim) to sit on top of the Ark of the Covenant?

The answer to both of these questions are rooted in the concept of the ego.  Anyone have a working definition of what the ego is?  We will see that once we do it becomes possible to learn how to combat (or at least manage) it.

And what does any of this have to do with groupies?  Come tonight at 7:00 to find out…
