The phone rang. Rachel picked it up only to find an extremely rude customer on the other end. He yelled, he insulted her, he threatened to have her fired, he asked to speak to her manager. After transferring the call, she was so upset that she was shaking. When I saw her two hours later, she was still shaken.

I asked her: “What if 5 minutes before the call you would get a memo – ‘I believe in you so much that I want to get you a raise and a promotion. To do that I have to prove to the big boss that you can handle the toughest customers. So I will arrange for a very difficult customer to call and we will listen in to see how calmly you handle it.’”

Rachel paused. “I would probably be calm and in control – knowing this is for my promotion.”

You have tremendous beauty and greatness inside, even if you don’t feel it. G-d is committed to bring it out, sometimes in ways that are hard for you.
But He sent you a memo: “I BELIEVE IN YOU! Every upsetting situation is there for your spiritual promotion. I’m giving you tests to bring out the strength and light you have inside. Just try to make the most noble choices and know that I’m with you!!”

This is a little clarity reminder that G-d believes in you.

From a place of trust we are much more likely to tap into the resources we need to be able to grow, improve and embrace others.
